The Monastery

Kloster Esthal, also known as Esthal Abbey, is a historic abbey located in the municipality of Esthal, in the Rhineland-Palatinate region of Germany. Nestled in the scenic Palatinate Forest, the abbey holds significant cultural and historical importance in the region.

In January 1951, an independent province was created for the Palatinate region. Until then, the Palatinate belonged to the Bavarian province. The construction of a mother house for Esthal was planned as the seat of the provincial government. At the same time, the motherhouse was used for the rest of the sisters and later for the retirement of the sick and old sisters.

Due to personnel and demographic developments, the monastery is sold in 2019.

The new owner is the priest Dr. Jaroslaw Krzewicki (EUROPEAN HOUSE ESTHAL GmbH).
